Austria – pensions rise – economy

Pensions in Austria will rise between 5.8 and 10.2 percent next year. This was announced by Social Affairs Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens) and parliamentary group leader August Wöginger from the conservative Chancellor’s Party ÖVP. The increases are socially staggered. For people with low pensions of up to 1030 euros, the increase including special payments will be 10.2 percent. This roughly corresponds to the current inflation rate. The majority of pensioners will receive 8.2 percent more, said Rauch. “The pension increase is socially just and in the current situation with the enormous price increases it helps people with small and medium-sized pensions,” he said. In Austria, the term pensions also includes pensions.
