Glacier body discovered – man missing for 52 years

Police believe the man has been missing since 1971. As early as mid-August, ski hikers had discovered body parts on a Tyrolean glacier.

In Another body was found on a glacier in Austria within a few weeks. As the Salzburg police announced, last week two hikers discovered the remains of a man in the Hochgruberkees area at around 2,800 above sea level.

The dead man was flown into the valley from the scene of the accident near Fusch on Großglocknerstrasse.

Police believe it is a man missing since 1971 whose document was found with the body. The authorities are now looking for relatives in order to clearly clarify the identity using DNA comparison.

In mid-August, ski hikers discovered body parts on a Tyrolean glacier. At the beginning of September, a DNA analysis brought certainty that these were the remains of a man who went missing in the Schlatenkee area in 2001 at the age of 37.
