Australian is stuck in the sewer shaft because he wants to save his cell phone

An Australian has impressively proven that the smartphone is now like an extension of the arm. When his cell phone falls into a sewage shaft, he climbs after it.
The firefighters lifted the manhole cover and freed the man. According to the emergency services report, he was taken to the hospital because he sustained abrasions and was hypothermic. It has rained a lot in Brisbane in the past few days. A lot of water had flowed through the sewer in which the man was stuck. In search of a way out, the man also drank the water.

The Australian didn’t want to accept help
Passer-by James Lingwood told the Courier Mail newspaper that he heard screams coming from the drain while jogging on Sunday and discovered the man standing knee-deep in water. “It’s not often you see someone in the drain, especially because there are rats, snakes, mosquitoes and all sorts of things,” Lingwood said.
When he asked, “Are you okay? Can I help you?” but the man replied “No, brother, I’m fine,” Lingwood reported. The man assured him that he could find a way out of the sewer himself – “so I just left him alone.” He doesn’t see this as a failure to help: “He didn’t want my help,” emphasized Lingwood. It was initially not known whether the man was able to save his cell phone during the operation.
