Shocking moment in the church in Sydney: In the middle of the service, a man attacks a priest and believers. A video captures the horror.
In the Australian metropolis Sydney police responded to a stabbing attack again on Monday. The officers were on duty in the suburb of Wakeley following reports that several people had been stabbed, the New South Wales Police said on the platform X (formerly Twitter).
A man was arrested and was cooperative with officers. There was talk of “hurt people”. The injuries were not life-threatening and were being treated on site by emergency services.
According to media reports, the incident occurred in a Christian church. Video footage published on the Internet, which the BBC said was taken from a live broadcast of a church service, showed a man approaching the priest during mass and hitting him before those present rushed up to intervene. It was not clear what object he used for this.
