In the southern Chinese city of Chongzuo, early risers were able to watch a memorable spectacle at the weekend. More than 80 ostriches ran through the streets there in the middle of the night. According to media reports, they escaped from a nearby ostrich farm after the enclosure gate was not properly locked.
The birds, some of which weigh more than 100 kilograms, can reach speeds of 70 kilometers per hour. In threatening situations, they can also be dangerous for people. With the help of the police, most of the animals were captured and brought back. According to media reports, no one was injured.
