Markus Söder did not come to the “Kentucky Fried Chicken” (KFC) chain, although he was addressed directly in the invitation text. Invited to the meeting of the Junge Union in the local association Augsburg – Bärenkeller, Oberhausen, Kriegshaber (BOK). The CSU chairman not only missed the enclosed vouchers for crispy snacks (“Hot Wings” Tuesday at KFC, emphasizes JU local director Christopher Andersen), but also the advance of the offspring in the north-west of Augsburg: for the legalization of cannabis, “Smart politics instead of senseless prohibitions”.
The positioning should also be “a sign” in the party that this debate has long since arrived in the middle of society. In the CSU, however, that is “a red rag,” says Andersen, as was the case with gay marriage. Anyone who demanded both “was considered a devil-worshiping drug junkie”. The topic “finally free of ideology and prejudices on the basis of facts” has to be discussed.
He personally has little to do with cannabis, so you don’t have to smoke weed like an excavator to stand up for a liberal drug policy. As arguments, the JU BOK cites that despite the ban, people are consumed, including all the dangers of the black market and crime. Legalization, on the other hand, could relieve the burden on the judiciary and the state budget, generate taxes that flow into prevention, and cut criminal flows of money. It is about core concerns of the Union: “Security of society and the individual”.
In general, Andersen seems to struggle with the stubbornness of his party. KFC instead of a pub, cheeky postings on the Internet or “even controversial opinions” – politics should be fun, the invitation said: “JU BOK makes BOK!” This is the only way, he says, that youth can be “a thorn in the flesh of the party”, as party leaders always wished for in Sunday speeches.
A few weeks ago there was already a hype about Andersen. While celebrating his high school diploma, he tweeted a photo with a beer funnel and hose around his neck. That there was a like from Daniela Ludwig (CSU), drug commissioner of the federal government, was worth a gloss for the SZ. It all turned into a stoner debate on Twitter, which was also the reason for the move. To date, Ludwig has not received a heart for Andersen’s post.
