In the process of a fatal argument at a bus stop in Augsburg, a 20-year-old woman admitted to stabbing a 28-year-old. The woman has been standing in front of the youth chamber of the Augsburg regional court for murder since Thursday.
At the end of November 2020, two smaller groups clashed at the bus stop. The victim was involved in a tussle with the defendant’s friend. As a result, the 20-year-old took her pocket knife and stabbed her friend’s opponent with the blade in the chest. The knife hit the heart of the victim, and the 28-year-old died within a few minutes.
The accused German said that the pushing between the men was the trigger for the crime. “I panicked then.” Although she was not involved in the scuffle, she was afraid of an attack.
After the bloody act in the early evening of November, the 20-year-old fled with her boyfriend while an emergency doctor was fighting for the life of the seriously injured man. Due to the interrogation of witnesses, the criminal investigation team quickly tracked down the two suspects. The next morning they were both arrested.
The accused’s Freud was later released because he was not involved in the homicide. He was only charged with assault. Since the accused is an adolescent in the legal sense, the proceedings are conducted before the youth chamber. The judges then have to decide whether to use juvenile or adult criminal law in the event of conviction.
The 20-year-old said in court that she has had psychological problems since she was a teenager and also uses drugs. She justified the fact that she had a jackknife with her by saying that she was “afraid of men” because of two rapes.
In a letter she apologized to the mother of the victim. The presiding judge Lenart Hoesch read out the letter during the hearing. In it the defendant describes that it was an unfortunate meeting. Because of her previous trauma, she reacted in a panic. She wanted to be responsible for the deed. The 28-year-old’s mother, who is a joint plaintiff in the proceedings, declined to take the letter.
Six more days of trial are planned for the trial, and a judgment could be announced in mid-August.
