Beckenbauer documentaries attract millions to the television

Many people wanted to see documentaries about the football legend. Nevertheless, these programs were not the winners in the ratings race.

Shortly after his death became known, ARD and ZDF each had more than four million viewers with documentaries about Franz Beckenbauer. ZDF changed its program and showed one at 7:40 p.m Documentary about the football legend – 4.43 million people (market share 16.8 percent) tuned in. In the first, ARD showed a documentary that had been planned for the evening for some time – around 8:30 p.m. 4.02 million people (14.5 percent) were there.

The podium

If you look at the TV ratings race, the crime series “Nord Nord Mord” won on ZDF in the evening and had 8.4 million viewers (30.2 percent) around 8:30 p.m. At 8:15 p.m. there was a “focal point” on the farmers’ protests on the first – 4.6 million people (16.5 percent) saw the ARD broadcast. Then came the Beckenbauer documentary.

The RTL quiz show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” recorded 2.71 million viewers (11.3 percent). ProSieben bet on the fantasy series “House of the Dragon” – 1.29 million (4.8 percent) spent their evening with it.

ZDFneo recorded 1.23 million viewers (4.4 percent) for the crime series “Inspector Barnaby”. Sat.1 had 960,000 viewers (3.8 percent) with the weight loss challenge “The Biggest Loser – Life Made Easy”. Vox showed the documentary soap “Goodbye Germany! The Emigrants” – 720,000 people (2.6 percent) watched. Kabel eins had 480,000 viewers (1.9 percent) with the US action thriller “In the Body of the Enemy”.
