Auction in Haar – Pharmaceutical company MSD is auctioning inventory – District of Munich

The opportunity is unique: Anyone who is tired of working on a wobbly chair in the home office or is longing for a full-size filing cabinet and a room-high office plant should look for their hair. There, the pharmaceutical company MSD Sharp & Dohme has given up its German headquarters on Lindenplatz. The employees have been gone since the beginning of November, but the office equipment has remained behind and is being auctioned online. The company Restlos Industrieverwertungen offers more than 6000 objects. On Friday these can be viewed in Haar, then bids can be made until the end of November.

The company, which belongs to the US global group Merck & Co. and was headquartered in Haar as a Germany offshoot with the name MSD until the end of October, decided for strategic reasons to get rid of all the office space that is now under the hammer is coming. The move to Munich in the newly built Macherei district should, according to the company statement, be a signal for a modern, more open corporate culture, in which permanent jobs are less important than so-called working spaces.

The office building in Haar was subsequently sold. Many MSD mourn in Haar because of the high trade tax payments, which are now no longer applicable. The pain is likely to increase that MSD is currently one of the beacons of hope in the fight against the corona pandemic with a drug. Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) recently said that talks were being held with MSD about the use of molnupiravir.

The phone calls from Berlin are no longer in the hair. And at the executive table in fine wood, flanked by 18 leather armchairs, which symbolizes a corporate culture that is no longer up-to-date, nothing is decided anymore. It is sold like a map of Germany, a medical model of a brain and picture frames. “Everything is too good to land on the garbage and not get a new life,” says Fabian Altrichter, managing director of Restlos.

There was no question about quality at MSD-Büro. Eames chairs and Haller shelves are available. There are more than 150 filing cabinets, 600 desks and more than 200 sideboards on offer. 350 works of art and art objects change hands. These include works by renowned painters such as Nina Nolte. There are autographed photographs by Thomas Struth. If you want to spice up your home office, you can hang originals by Pedja Djakovic and art prints by Andy Warhol from MSD stocks on your wall.

60 parts from the company’s own fitness studio are also available. The dumbbell and treadmill could help at home in the harsh Corona winter. All 2000 auction lots are already online, and bids can already be made. The sale is divided into three auctions. The last time for office equipment is on Tuesday, November 23rd, for art on Wednesday, November 24th, and for the fitness studio on Thursday, November 25th.

The goods can be ordered on Friday, November 19, after registration at http://terminbuchung.restlos.com can be visited in hair. If the bid is accepted, it is to be picked up there.
