The auction house spoke of the “most modest Christmas tree in the world” with 25 branches, 12 berries and 6 mini candle holders. The festive magic led to a breathtaking auction result.
Dorothy Grant, who died in January 2014 at the age of 101, received the Christmas tree in 1920 at the age of eight, Hansons Auctioneers said. She kept him all her life. After her death, her daughter Shirley Hall (84) took over the tree.
