Attention travelers: Federal police warn of the “locker trick”

It is not uncommon for travelers to report to the Federal Police because their luggage and valuables have been stolen from train station lockers.
That’s why the federal police in Bavaria warns on Twitter with a video about the so-called “locker trick”.
Fraudsters often take advantage of the carelessness of travelers and pass their victims off at the lockers.
One of the criminal methods is the so-called “key exchange”.
The federal police video shows the moment in a recreated scene: When the potential victim has stowed his luggage in the locker, he is cleverly distracted and his key is swapped for another locker key.
Here you can clearly see: The female scammer in the video relies on her victim’s willingness to help and asks for directions.
The Federal Police advises caution.
Tip: Always check again whether the key to your locker fits if you receive it from someone else’s hands.
