After the attack on a concert hall near Moscow, the situation remains confusing. ARD correspondent Ina Ruck reports that the fire department is in the process of extinguishing the fire. But attackers are still suspected there.

Up to five men stormed a concert hall in Moscow and apparently opened fire on visitors with submachine guns. The attack was “officially declared a terrorist attack,” reported ARD correspondent in Moscow, Ina Ruck, in the daily News.

There are reports that a grenade was also detonated, the explosion of which caused a fire in the concert hall.

“The whole thing isn’t over yet,” estimates shock the situation in Moscow. The fire department has already started extinguishing the fire – but there are apparently still perpetrators in the building.

In response to the attack, Moscow’s mayor canceled all mass events and announced special protective measures for airports and train stations. “Who the perpetrators are or what the background to the attack is – nothing is known yet,” said Ruck.
