In the discus throw there were finally justified hopes for a medal at the World Championships in Athletics in the USA. And then? For Kristin Pudenz, the competition was over after just three throws.
When the discus landed in the safety net on the third attempt and the next disappointment for the German track and field selection at the World Championships could no longer be avoided, Kristin Pudenz immediately hid her face with her hands.
