In addition to winning the ten-kilometer race, the 27-year-old from Leverkusen also missed the standard for the 10,000 meters at the Olympic Games in Paris. Klosterhalfen reached the goal after 32:09 minutes, but 30:40 minutes are required to qualify. The former World Cup third-place finisher recently won a road race in Spain in 31:07 minutes. She agreed at short notice for the 76th edition of the Paderborn Easter Run.

Kenyan Purity Gitonga secured victory in 30:57 minutes ahead of her compatriot Nancy Chepleting, who needed 31:34 minutes. Several German marathon specialists reached the finish line after Klosterhalfen. Fourth place went to Katharina Steinruck from Frankfurt (32:17), Fabienne Königstein from Mannheim came sixth (32:36), the sisters Debbie (33:11) and Rabea Schöneborn (33:24) from Berlin came in eighth place nine.
