Karlsfeld:Sitting instead of walking
By Jessica Schober, Karlsfeld
The name of the Würm is traditionally derived from the Celtic expression “Wirmina”, which means something like “fast flowing”. Anyone who walks along the river in Karlsfeld can, with a bit of luck, discover a slight glitter in a quiet spot. It’s best to sit down. In these fast-flowing and turbulent times, it is more important than ever to take an opportunity to rest instead of throwing yourself straight back into the flow of life. In any case, going for a walk has suffered in the past year as a socially recognized form of employment. Since the instrumentalization of this method of locomotion, the dignified flâneur prefers to take a seat on a small bench like this one instead of being caught taking an unannounced stroll. Not “everything is solved while walking”, as it is sometimes said, some things are better just sitting out.
