HEARING REPORT – During this sixth day of hearing, the mother of the lieutenant-colonel who took the place of a hostage during the attack on the Super U gave a most combative testimony.
Hair tied in an improvised bun, Nicole Beltrame came to the bar as one comes to buy bread: the flow was fast, efficient, without fuss. “My son did not sacrifice himself, he fought to the death. Finally someone who has courage, finally someone who is not a coward!”exclaimed in front of the special criminal court of Paris the mother of gendarmerie lieutenant-colonel Arnaud Beltrame, killed by the Islamist terrorist Radouane Lakdim at the Super U in Trèbes, on March 23, 2018. Before adding, resoundingly : “We are fed up with cowardice, with this laxity. It’s time to wake up !”. No doubt: Nicole Beltrame is a fighter. She is indeed the mother of his son.
