At the trial of Nordahl Lelandais, the day of the friends of the band at “Nono”

They are the same age. Well into his thirties but not yet in his forties. It’s the same band. The one who went out for parties, nightclubs and restaurants in the years 2010-2016 in Chambéry and around. It was the band at “Nono”. Almost ten years ago, Vanessa, Fabien, Coralie, Nazim and their boyfriend Nordahl Lelandais, whom they all called “Nono”, spent their 20 years together. Evenings of laughing, drinking, being happy to meet and love each other. To hear all four of them succeed each other in this order, at the bar of the Isère Assize Court, Tuesday 1er February, second day of the Lelandais trial, accused of the murder of little Maëlys, they must have had a good laugh.

Nono, he was the nice guy. most “helpful” of all. At the slightest glitch, it was he who was called, remembers Fabien. “He was the one you could count on, even at 2 a.m. » Besides, he made all the moves of the band. “We have known each other since 2009, calculates Coralie. He was my protector. Never mean. Never aggressive. » At that time, he was returning from the army. He told them that he had seen “hard things” during special operations in Guyana. “Deaths, difficult things”, explains Coralie who seemed to be his confidante. Did he add a little more? Surely. But even if sometimes, he overdid it or if he forgot too often to pay his shot, they let it happen. It was Nono. So nice. He didn’t have a steady job.

With time and youth slipping away, they have moved away from each other a little, but without getting lost. Fabien and Coralie moved in and had two children. “Nono was very attentive to them, always very kind”, Coralie insists. And then, one day at the end of August 2017, they saw that we were talking about their buddy on the news. A little girl had disappeared on the night of August 27, in Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Isère), during a wedding. Nono had been taken into custody. “But since he came out free, I thought he hadn’t done anything,” says Fabien. The cops seized his car. Coralie remembers that when he came out of police custody, he came to their house. “We were in front of the news on TV which showed the face of little Maëlys, but Nono was not watching. He showed no emotion.” she says. And at that time, she didn’t recognize her Nono.

“He expressed no emotion”

She did not understand why when around 3 am, when the wedding DJ had given the sound system the alert of the disappearance, Nordahl had not rushed with his dogs to participate in the first search. The Nono she thought she knew, her Nono, would have darkened. He would have been at the head of the group with his dogs and would have searched every nook and cranny.
