“At the lowest point of my life”

The biggest German streamer on Twitch is Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris. On Saturday evening, February 19, he announced that he would no longer be streaming. He has arrived at the lowest point in his life and will need time to find himself again. He doesn’t even know when he’ll be back on Twitch. The announcement followed a scandal surrounding NFTs.

MontanaBlack says: At 8:48 p.m. on February 19, 2022, the controversial streamer from Buxtehude published one tweet:

“Message me too.

I’m probably at the lowest point in my life right now, physically and mentally.

A few things have happened, off the internet, and [ich] gonna need my time to get back to my old self: when or how, [ich zurückkomme], I don’t know myself. Thanks”

What things happened there? We don’t want to speculate here about the private things that happened outside of the Internet.

But you know what happened on the Internet. Over the past few weeks, MontanaBlack has been accepting promotional deals for various NFTs. He has received money for promoting the controversial products on his Twitter channel by hosting giveaways.

There were two problems here:

MontanaBlack was not on Twitch last week, not on Twitter

What else is noticeable? MontanaBlack had been quiet for quite some time prior to last night’s announcement. Actually, the streamer is on the air several times a week, but in the past week he has not streamed a single day.

The last stream came on Sunday, February 13, when it was watched by an average of 47,000 people. MontanaBlack has also not tweeted since February 14.

Most recently, MontanaBlack feuded with Elias Nerlich, an esports athlete and content creator, on Twitter.

So after the NFTs scandal, MontanaBlack was off the air. However, he does not go into these problems on the Internet in his tweet, but instead puts the reasons “outside the Internet” in the foreground.

MontanaBlack’s statement that he has “reached the lowest point in his life” is also so depressing because the streamer’s past is well known and not poor at low points.

After all, his biography is titled: From junkie to millionaire.
