Women in force in the American music industry. The ranking of nominations for the next Grammy Awards is dominated by female artists, with SZA in the lead. The R&B and soul singer obtained this Friday, with nine categories, the most nominations for the next American music industry awards ceremony. The hit singer Kill Billahead of rocker Phoebe Bridgers, pop singer Victoria Monet, as well as mixer Serban Ghenea, who each received seven nominations.
Next up, with nominations in six categories, are female rock supergroup boygenius (of which Phoebe Bridgers is a member), as well as Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Jon Batiste, Brandy Clark and Miley Cyrus. Producer Jack Antonoff also gets six nominations for his work with Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey.
The “Barbie” soundtrack in force
But at the 66th Grammy Awards on February 4 in Los Angeles, the other phenomenon to watch will be the cinema blockbuster barbiewhose songs from the soundtrack, performed notably by Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa, strongly occupy several categories.
In 2023, the ceremony crowned Beyoncé, who became the most awarded artist with a total of 32 awards throughout her career, but the supreme prize for album of the year had escaped her in favor of British popstar Harry Styles .
