At the German Teachers’ Prize, two awards go to Bavaria – Bavaria

Two projects from the Free State will also be honored at the German Teachers’ Prize. The examples show that the students are increasingly concerned with political and current problems.

The gravestones are spread out and neatly lined up in the Jewish cemetery in Schopfloch in the Ansbach district. Some are artfully crafted, others have already fallen into disrepair, and the inscriptions – some in German, some in Hebrew – are barely recognizable. For centuries, Jews from the region were buried here. Some deceased people are missing, although they deserve a place: 60 people who lived or were born in the area before the Nazi era. 60 people who were expelled, persecuted and murdered by the National Socialists. 60 people who never got a gravestone in this place.
