At the Faculty of Letters, blocked since March 14, the exam procedures (finally) fixed

In Montpellier (Hérault), the students of the Paul-Valéry University can, finally, put themselves to work serenely on their partials. While the Faculty of Arts has been blocked indefinitely since March 14, due to the protest against the Pension Reform, the procedures for taking the second semester exams were recorded last Thursday during a Study Council and university life (Cevu) exceptional.

It was thus decided that the partials would all be done remotely, and that they would only relate to the themes which were worked on face-to-face, before the campus was blocked by demonstrators. In addition, it is expected that the markers will be lenient in their notations, learned 20 minutes with the faculty administration.

The IT pavilions will be open

For students who do not have computers, the university’s computer pavilions will be open, from May 2, to allow them to take their assessments.

The terms of the second semester exams were at the heart of a showdown between the unions and the university management. The unions had voted on April 11, during a first Cevu, that a “improvable 12” be awarded to all students and that the average of the first semester be carried over to the second semester. These measures, deemed illegal by the management of the faculty, were finally challenged last Thursday.
