According to consistent media reports from Rome, she died at the age of 95. She was discharged from the hospital last September after undergoing surgery to break a femur.
Lollobrigida was one of the great film divas of the 20th century. She became world famous in the mid-1950s with her role as Esmeralda in “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”. Along with Sophia Loren and Claudia Cardinale, she was considered one of the greatest film icons in Italy. She later made a name for herself as a photographer and sculptor.
