At Riemer See in Munich: Man with harpoon hunting ducks – Munich

With a harpoon, a flashlight and a poultry knife, a man apparently wanted to hunt ducks on Friday evening at Lake Riem.

Passersby reported to the police around 10 p.m. that someone was aiming and shooting at wild ducks. The officers encountered a 56-year-old man from the Munich district who was carrying the weapon and the other items.

The man didn’t have a hunting permit – but that wouldn’t have helped him either, because there is a closed season for ducks from mid-January to the end of September, during which they are not allowed to be hunted.

The poacher was apparently not successful – the officials found neither injured nor killed animals. He was reported for poaching, and there may also be charges for violating the weapons law.
