At Ostbahnhof: Five injured by pepper spray – Munich

Five people were injured at Munich Ostbahnhof on Sunday night. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, a man got into an argument with a 19-year-old Ukrainian at the main exit around 12:15 a.m. He suddenly sprayed pepper spray into his face, police said on Monday. Two of the Ukrainian’s companions, 14 and 15 years old, also received pepper spray and suffered severe irritation to their eyes and respiratory tract.

They went to a nearby fast food restaurant to call the police. Now two other restaurant visitors also complained of breathing difficulties, apparently caused by pepper spray that stuck to the three’s clothing.

The federal police took all five injured people to the station at Ostbahnhof. There they received initial care, but did not require any further medical treatment. The perpetrator had fled and could no longer be found. He is now being investigated for grievous bodily harm.
