ASUS and MSI present hardware in Evangelion design

ASUS and MSI have presented a special edition of some PC components. This is aimed at fans of the sci-fi anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The main characters of the series are the Evangelions, or Evas for short, who are biomechanical humanoid mechas. The mainboards, graphics cards and, in the case of MSI, also the housing, power supply and AiO cooling are designed according to the coloring of the Mechas, which are numbered as Unit-01, Unit-02, Unit-03 etc.

ASUS (via CoolPC) and MSI take well-known series of PC components (ASUS ROG Strix, MSI Tomahawk and Coreliquid C240) and adjust the colors accordingly.

The ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 Eva is based on the ROG Strix variant of the GeForce RTX 3090. It is not known whether this will even be available in Germany. Since most of the fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion are based in Asia, Japan to be precise, the availability should also be concentrated in this region.

Things are a bit different for MSI’s Evangelion e:Project. MSI’s US store launches MAG B660 Tomahawk EVA e-PROJECT, MAG Coreliquid C240 EVA e-PROJECT and a MPG Gungnir 110R EVA e-PROJECT. The AiO water cooling Coreliquid C240 costs 40 US dollars extra in the special edition (159.99 US dollars to 119.99 US dollars). The normal Tomahawk version of the B660 board cannot be found in the shop there, so it is not possible to compare the price here. At Newegg, the B660 costs Tomahawk $189.99The Eva Edition at MSI $218.99.

Such components are certainly interesting for fans of the anime series and modders. For the general market, on the other hand, they play less of a role. Nevertheless, they show an interesting design language.
