Watch the video: “Assume I can do it” – World Down Syndrome Day video goes viral

CoorDown released a powerful video for World Down Syndrome Day and it’s currently going viral. More than 100,000 people have seen the nonprofit organization’s appeal on YouTube.

In the video, the protagonist shows the limitations that people with Down syndrome face every day, limitations that exist in the minds of the people around them – and therefore also in their own minds.

That doesn’t have to be the case.

The message of the video: “Just assume that I can do it!”

Users who have seen the video are enthusiastic: “The best campaign I have seen in a long time. So memorable!! Beautifully executed,” one wrote in the comments.

Another says: “I have Down syndrome and that inspires me a lot.”

We can all learn something from the video: Often it is unconscious prejudices that not only offend other people, but also hinder their development. Recognizing this is probably the most important takeaway from this extremely powerful video.
