STORY: Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio was killed at a campaign rally. President Guillermo Lasso wrote on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday that he blames organized crime and that the perpetrators will feel the full weight of the law. The suspect was also dead. The Attorney General’s Office said: A suspect who was injured in the shootout with the security forces was arrested and taken to the Attorney General’s Office in Quito with serious injuries.
