Aßling: demonstration against burner route Limone – Ebersberg

Opponents of the Limone access route to the Brenner Pass chosen by the railways are mobilizing this Monday, September 5, in the Aßlinger district of Dorfen: At 6 p.m., a demonstration against the Limone route “and for an optimized close-to-existence expansion”, as stated in the press release is called.

The citizens’ initiative in the north of the Brenner Pass in the district of Ebersberg is calling for the routes to be re-evaluated, but also for the best protection against vibration and noise, a redesign of the Aßling train station, avoiding island locations for districts and buildings and avoiding flyover structures. In addition, according to the wishes of the members of the citizens’ initiative, everything should go very quickly: everything should be completed by 2030, i.e. by the opening of the Brenner Base Tunnel, so that the existing route is not overloaded even more.

The so-called Limone selection route, which the railways chose from a total of five route variants in mid-July, is currently being heavily criticized by many affected people in the district – and also by politicians – because it cuts through farmland and means a new burden for citizens who previously lived far away from the tracks. A number of people in Aßling, who are already severely affected by rail traffic, are hoping for relief from the Limone route.
