Aschheim – Journey to the time of the Celts – District of Munich

In and around Aschheim and Dornach, archaeologists regularly discover historical finds during construction work. The Aschheim Museum is concerned with what they say. In a series of lectures, three experts are now devoting themselves to the period between 400 BC and 400 AD and thus the exciting time of Celtic settlement, the transition from the Celts to the Romans and the Roman Empire. On Friday, November 12th, archaeologist Christiana Later reports on the Celts in “Networked in Europe, at home in Aschheim”. On November 26th, Bernd Steidl from the Archaeological State Collection in Munich will be devoting himself to the local population in the Alpine foothills during the time of Roman rule. On December 10, archaeologist Hans-Peter Volpert concludes the series with a balance sheet of the findings from the past 30 years on Roman settlement structures on the Munich gravel plain. All lectures will take place in the Great Hall of the Cultural Building, Münchner Straße 8, and each start at 7 p.m. Admission is free. The 3G plus rule applies. Registration by phone 089/90 77 59 70 (AB) or by email to [email protected].
