Five months after his disappearance, a senior was found dead in Aschaffenburg. A medical cause of death is assumed, said a police spokesman on Monday. At the end of March, a nurse from the Aschaffenburg Clinic found the body of the 72-year-old in a dense blackberry hedge. The man had been hospitalized and left the hospital one evening in late October.
A DNA comparison has now confirmed that the dead person is the missing person, the police said. After the disappearance of the 72-year-old man, the investigators and the rescue service searched the area around the clinic with the help of person search dogs and drones, among other things.
