A father is said to have fatally injured his ten-month-old son in Aschaffenburg. The infant was taken to the hospital and is no longer in mortal danger, as the Lower Franconia police and the Aschaffenburg public prosecutor announced on Friday. The 34-year-old father had an argument on Tuesday in the shared apartment with his partner, the child’s mother. In the course of the dispute, he is said to have “acted violently on the child several times”. Neighbors heard the mother’s calls for help and called the police. The 34-year-old was arrested on the spot. He is being investigated for attempted murder. He has been in custody since Wednesday.
