Three departments are placed in orange vigilance for strong winds, from 4 p.m. Thursday, April 7, due to the passage of storm Diego in western France. The departments concerned are Deux-Sèvres, Vienne and Charente-Maritime. In addition, Savoie remains on orange alert for avalanches.

Meteo France predicts a “rough weather during the night from Thursday to Friday and Friday morning, with alternating rainy periods more or less marked, and a again sensitive south-westerly wind blowing in gusts between 60 and 80 km / h in the morning”.
This southwest wind is going “clearly” strengthen Friday at midday. It will be accompanied “on the coastal area and the near interior gusts generally between 90 and 110 km / h, which can temporarily reach 110 to 120 km / h and inland, gusts of the order of 80 to 100 km / h, locally 100 to 110 km/h”.
