As in the satirical film: British TV presenter laughs away heat deaths

See the video: British TV presenter laughs away the heat deaths – and is reminiscent of the Netflix satire “Don’t Look Up”.

Heatwave in Britain: This TV interview is reminiscent of the doomsday satire “Don’t Look Up” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence.

“John, I want us to be happy about the weather. I don’t know if something happened to the meteorologists that made them all a bit fatalistic and doomsday.”

The film is about scientists who want to warn the world about a fatal comet impact – and encounter a lot of ignorance in the process.

Movie scene (“Don’t look up” from tweet):

“We’re trying to tell them that the entire planet is about to be destroyed!” – “That’s how we do it here. We’re breaking up the bad news.”

A video showing a similar scene from British television is doing the rounds on Twitter.

Just like in the film, GB News presenter Bev Turner laughs off meteorologist John Hammond’s warnings.

“We all like nice weather, but it won’t be nice weather. It will be potentially deadly weather for a few days. It will be short but brutal.”

“John, I want us to be happy about the weather. I don’t know if something happened to the meteorologists that made them all a bit fatalistic and doomsday. On every channel, especially the BBC, they talk about how many deaths there will be. But didn’t we always have hot weather, John?’

Hammond replies that the weather is getting more extreme and the fact that people will die should not be taken lightly.

How hot it is in Great Britain is made clear by various reports:

For the first time in history, the authorities issued the highest heat warning level for large parts of England – temperatures of up to 41° Celsius are expected.

At the Brize Norton military base, the runway is said to have “melted”.

Experts expect thousands of heat deaths.
