Artists who will enrich Bavaria’s culture in 2024. – Munich

Their music already has millions of fans on Tiktok, and their lyrics win literary prizes. They are not afraid of taking risks on stage, nor are they afraid of AI in art. They are breaking new ground in classical music and dance. Great things can be expected from these young artists from Bavaria in 2024.

Punk rock by Damona

In contrast to many other young musicians, Damona sings in English. “It doesn’t feel as approachable,” she says.

At the end of November, Damona played her first solo concert in Munich, the city where her managers Jo Halbig and Patrick Oginski live. It was during the harsh winter days, and the teenagers, eager to see the 18-year-old’s show in the stream, stood in a snowy line that stretched far beyond the railway bridge. Of course, Anja Seelos, as the musician’s real name is, has some live experience: appearances at festivals, at showcase events, as the opening act for other bands. But the fact that fans come to her performance in Cologne and sing along loudly to the lyrics of her English-language punk rock songs is “so surreal, so difficult to understand,” as she says.
