In exhibitions in Dortmund, Duisburg and Düsseldorf, visitors are allowed to touch works. Whoever did that will never want to just look at her again.
Only five photos still existed of Ferdinand Spindel’s “Foam Room”, and they were black and white. The Dortmund Museum am Ostwall still managed to reconstruct the work of art from 1969 – or to recreate it with the help of rare contemporary evidence. It is the main work of the exhibition “Headfirst into Art”, which is aimed at families and offers a different approach to art: you can walk through the “foam room” and feel it – and you want to do that too, you want to completely surrender to this dream in pink , to lounge around in it, to disappear into its soft folds and curves for a long time.
