One of the unwritten rules of football expertise in England seems to be to be able to take as hard a blow as you give it out – and also be able to laugh at yourself. Sky commentator Jamie Carragher provided an example on Monday evening when he joined the interview with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard. Carragher was recently upset with Odegaard when, after the success in the top game against Liverpool FC, he took the camera out of a club photographer’s hand on the pitch and took a photo of him in front of the fans for a souvenir picture. Former Liverpool defender Carragher said Odegaard should go “into the dressing room tunnel”. Odegaard countered the criticism by assuring that the team would remain “modest” despite their success. And on the other hand, he asked when else one could be happy if not after winning a game.
