Arnaud Montebourg announces in a video that he withdraws his candidacy

Arnaud Montebourg formalized this Wednesday in a video broadcast on social networks, the withdrawal of his candidacy for the presidential election. The cantor of the “Remontada” explained that he had “failed to bring together in a common program (his) candidacy for other candidacies” from the left.

In the video showing him walking on the heights of the Bibracte site (Saône-et-Loire), he explains: “The time has therefore come for me, as a free man, absolutely free, (…) to tell you that I have made the decision to withdraw from the presidential race.

Credited with around 1% of voting intentions by the polls, the former Socialist Minister for Productive Recovery failed to find the necessary funding for his campaign. He could join another candidate in the race for the Elysée.
