Army asks citizens for help in finding missing fighter jet

Impossible to find the position of the fighter plane. After the disappearance of an American stealth plane this Sunday, the army launched an appeal to citizens to help find it. Sunday afternoon, the pilot of an F-35 ejected from the aircraft in the state of South Carolina (south).

The latter survived, but the American army found itself faced with a completely different problem: impossible to locate the plane. This led the air base in the southern South Carolina city of Charleston to ask local residents for help.

Around 75 million euros

“If you have any information that could assist our rescue teams locating the F-35, please call the Base Defense Operations Center,” the military installation wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Air base officials said they were conducting search operations, in coordination with federal aviation regulators, around two lakes north of Charleston. The F-35 fighter jets, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, cost around $80 million each.
