Ariège: two people killed in an ultralight crash, the circumstances of the accident for the moment unknown

A ULM crashed this Tuesday at the end of the morning in the town of Prat-Bonrepaux in Ariège. According to our information, two people were on board, both died.

The accident reportedly happened late in the morning, around 11:30 a.m. The device was found in a small meadow on the edge of departmental road 533, which connects Prat-Bonrepaux to a place called Gèle. It crosses many fields on a winding route of the Couseran countryside. We do not know at this time what the circumstances of the accident are.

Firefighters and Samu d’Ariège deployed in large numbers to the scene of the tragedy. The gendarmerie set up a security perimeter to allow the first observations. The mayor of the town is there. The public prosecutor of Foix, Olivier Mouysset and the sub-prefect of the arrondissement of Saint-Girons, Catherine Lupion, should arrive at the scene of the accident at the beginning of the afternoon.

A helicopter from the DAG, the air detachment of the gendarmerie, flew over the area at the end of the morning. The causes of the accident and the identity of the victims are unknown at this time.
