The second round is in five days and the supposed gap between the two candidates has never been so narrow: In 2017, Emmanuel Macron had largely won (66% to 34%), but this time the polls predict a result in a range of 53 to 55.5% in favor of the outgoing president. This televised confrontation could therefore be crucial.
