In the morning edition of the ARD “Tagesschau” there was a rare picture due to sound problems. Afterwards, the moderators take it with humor.

Sound breakdown in the 8:00 a.m. edition of the ARD news program “Tagesschau”: Because her clip-on microphone no longer transmitted sound, news anchor Judith Rakers (47) switched to older technology in the morning.

“I just heard that we have no sound. That’s why I’m going “old school” with this microphone now,” she said and routinely continued to read the morning’s news. According to the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), the reason for the failure was that the battery of the clip-on microphone was empty, “although the batteries are replaced at the beginning of each shift”.

After the 8:00 a.m. news, the moderators of “ARD-Morgenmagazin” reacted with wit to the sound problem. The trio Susan Link, Till Nassif and Peter Großmann also moderated with black hand microphones, laughing. “We declare our full solidarity,” said Nassif. In the 8:30 a.m. edition, Rakers was again able to read aloud with a clip-on microphone.
