ARD series “Asbest” by Kida Khodr Ramadan: Uniquely well-cast gangster series – media

Fiction does not necessarily have to take place in reality to be good, otherwise you would have difficulties, shall we say, Starwars to call good fiction. The already very good ARD series asbestos lends its relation to reality a special value. In the days after completely overcooked New Year’s Eve debate about problem migrants in Berlin-Neukölln. And in the weeks after the World Cup in Qatar, in which quite a few observers who were otherwise emphatically culturally sensitive suddenly not only criticized human rights violations on the Arabian Peninsula, but also devalued an entire culture with unbridled arrogance. One could get the impression, see also Michel Houellebecq’s fear of “colonization by Muslims” in France, that migrants from the Near and Middle East had once again been identified as a problem and danger.
