Together with another ten million that were collected as part of the donation day with “Aktion Deutschland hilft”, more than 16.5 million euros were raised for the victims of the flood disaster, reported moderator Ingo Zamperoni.
Together with Sarah von Neuburg, he led through the evening in two studios in Cologne and Leipzig. The collection of donations for the people in the flood areas was supported by a number of prominent guests.
Also the daily News-Moderator Julia-Niharika Sen took calls on the donation phone of the ARD charity gala.

Many celebrities supported the fundraiser
Numerous musicians appeared on the show, including Herbert Grönemeyer, Rea Garvey, Roland Kaiser, Die Prinzen, Max Mutzke, Jeanette Biedermann and Yvonne Catterfeld. Sarah Connor dedicated the premiere of her new song “Stark” to those affected by the flood disaster. Udo Lindenberg donated a picture he had painted himself, which can be auctioned for a good cause until Monday.

The benefit show was preceded by a whole day of donations. On many ARD radio waves, the day began at 7 a.m. with a pause in memory of the victims of the disaster, and many regional television stations also took part with actions on the ARD charity day.
