Arcom seized for a new controversial sequence of TPMP

Abductions of children to take a substance called adrenochrome from their blood, which celebrities would then consume… It is this strange traffic that Gérard Fauré, guest of Cyril Hanouna’s show on C8, Thursday after 9 p.m., presented as an acquired fact.

The media regulator, Arcom, was seized about this controversial footage, he said on Friday. “We are therefore going to examine the sequence and assess the follow-up to be reserved for him,” said Arcom to AFP, without specifying who the referral came from.

“There are people who say it exists”

In this program by Cyril Hanouna, Gérard Fauré, presented as the “ex-dealer of all-Paris”, was initially questioned about the cocaine consumption of comedian Pierre Palmade, which caused a serious road accident on February 10.

It was then that he came to address this supposed child trafficking, taking up a conspiracy theory, notably promoted by the American conspiracy movement Qanon, but dismantled several times in recent years.

The words of Gérard Fauré were not denied on the set. “There are people who say that it exists”, commented Cyril Hanouna, while affirming on several occasions that the words of his guest “were only binding on him”.

In a hurry to conclude as the end of the program approached, Gérard Fauré mentioned the name of the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, before Cyril Hanouna returned to the antenna at 9:15 p.m. Previously, Gérard Fauré had notably asserted that the Vatican was a major exporter of cocaine.

Live outrage on social networks

In the three quarters of an hour following the end of “TPMP”, the Twitter accounts of the show and then of the C8 channel itself “condemned” the comments made on their antenna by their guest.

These excerpts sparked outrage on social media. Many Internet users have reported their intention to seize Arcom, whose regulations require channels to “master the antenna”.

“The publisher is responsible for what it broadcasts and must vouch for the comments made on the air,” stipulates the regulator. C8 (channel of the Canal+ group, controlled by the conservative billionaire Vincent Bolloré) has been pinned on multiple occasions by Arcom because of Cyril Hanouna’s broadcasts.

Record fine after insults to Louis Boyard

At the beginning of February, she had been fined a record 3.5 million euros after the insults launched live by her star host at the LFI deputy Louis Boyard in November.

In recent months, the Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul Malak, has repeatedly recalled that Arcom could withdraw its frequency from C8 in 2025 if it does not meet its obligations. These statements sparked protests from the Canal+ group.
