The proposed return of 700 million ARB tokens to Arbitrum’s DAO Treasury wasrefuseBy a majority vote on April 15, the proposed improvement to AIP-1.05 was introduced after the Arbitrum Foundation transferred funds without community approval in March.
AIP-1.05 was defeated by 118 million votes, 84% of the total votes received. While 21 million ARB tokens voted against the proposal, and nearly 14.5% of the total, or approximately 2 million ARB tokens, abstained, the proposal asked the Foundation to return the tokens “to symbolize that the ARB tokens were not voted against.” Hold the tokens in control of the DAO, not the Arbitrum or Foundation provider.”
Whale with 4.8 million ARB tokens said This proposal is simply an unnecessary step. and delaying the Foundation’s ability to support the growth of the Arbitrum ecosystem.”
