Bridging aid IV for companies that are particularly affected by the corona pandemic can be applied for with immediate effect. Companies are funded for the period from January to March 2022.

As of now, companies can apply for the new Bridging Aid IV. Corona aid will be paid for the period from January to March 2022 to companies that are particularly burdened by the restrictions to combat the pandemic. This was announced by the Federal Ministry of Economics.

You can apply for funding from tax advisors on the website: www.ueberbrueckungshilfe-unternehmen.de. Companies with a corona-related drop in sales of at least 30 percent are eligible for the aid funds. Fixed costs of up to 90 percent can be reimbursed for them.

In addition, companies eligible to apply can receive additional awards if they have had to post a particularly sharp drop in sales or if they are particularly affected – such as showmen and dealers at Christmas markets or manufacturers of fireworks. Companies that have to close as a result of the Corona rules because they make their operations uneconomical can also receive bridging aid.

Up to 100,000 euros per funding month

Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck announced that the first advance payments would be paid out in the next few weeks. “The rapid expansion of the Omikron variant again demands restrictions on all of us,” he told the dpa news agency. “At the same time, however, these restrictions also mean another test of endurance for many companies and their employees, and that after they had been through a pandemic for almost two years – a time full of uncertainty, restrictions and worries, a time that consumed many.”

With the bridging aid IV, they want to give companies a helping hand very quickly in order to cushion at least some hardships. “We know that it is time-consuming and costly for many companies to implement 2G rules or other corona access restrictions,” said Habeck. This is why Bridging Aid IV should not only cover material costs but also personnel costs that arise when the corona-related access rules are implemented.

The approval offices of the federal states are responsible for processing the applications, and they can provide down payments of up to 100,000 euros per funding month. Advance payments are advance payments that are later compared with the actual economic damage.
