Katja Wildermuth was not allowed to celebrate a victory for the Anzinger Löwen, the team narrowly lost to Landshut on Sunday after a strong game. Nevertheless, it was a nice trip to her former home for the director of Bavarian Radio, where she herself was an active handball player for many years. Mayor Kathrin Alte, her deputy Sandra Reim and many athletes from SV Anzing welcomed Wildermuth during their flying visit to the Vinzenz-Fröschl-Halle, after which it was celebratory: The 57-year-old signed the golden book of her former home community. Wildermuth is the first woman to head BR, in February 2021 she took over as director. She spent her childhood and adolescence in Anzing, graduating from high school in Markt Schwaben before going to Munich to study and later switching to journalism.
