Anti-Semitism in Germany: Nobody is born an anti-Semite – opinion

The speakers at the Bundestag debate to commemorate the pogrom night of November 9, 1938 and to protect Jewish life in Germany basically agreed: Hatred of Jews should never again have a place in Germany, and the country stands firmly by Israel. How everyone was able to agree that there is an urgent need for action after the anti-Semitic demonstrations in Germany over the past few weeks. The factions’ opinions only differed on the right way to proceed, as was shown by the two different motions for resolutions presented by the coalition and the CDU/CSU parliamentary group. Basically, it’s just a matter of nuances that could and should be eliminated in view of the jointly announced goals in the fight against anti-Semitism.
