Levana Emmert had found happiness: She moved from Israel to Nuremberg, the city of the Nazi party conferences, and opened a popular restaurant there. She died 15 months ago – and anti-Jewish disgust was now plastered on the wall.
She was spared. In August 2022, Levana Emmert, who everyone called Levana and who everyone wanted to be called Levana, died 15 months ago. She was already approaching 70 and was suffering from a serious illness. She still worked for “Tel Aviv-Jaffa” until the end, as it was her child. In the end she was no longer able to come to her restaurant. But preparing desserts at home was still possible and gave her strength. “I’m so glad that she didn’t have to experience that anymore,” says Sigrun Kürschner.
