The creators of the youth culture prize for the district of Ebersberg can be happy about a record in February: 77 children and young people give works on the topic “Space there?!” off, more than ever before. In addition, the creative works captivate with many loving details – and messages worth considering. It’s about environmental protection, Corona, human rights, but also about a crime and the longing for a decent soccer field. Alica, who is only 14, won first prize in the elderly category with the picture shown here, which draws a link from the French July Revolution to the current suffering of the Uyghurs in China. It is a modern take on a French cultural icon, the oil painting “Liberty Leading the People” by Eugène Delacroix – renamed “Liberty for the People” by Alicia.
